Matthew, As a land owner on Dogtooth Lake these are some concerns on the Crown Land Use Policy. I hope these concerns will be looked at and considered before the plan is completed. 1: Land use permits. Under whose jurisdiction/control will the road access, parking, and boat launching fall under, Provincial , Federal or Parks? We need to endure the continuation of our Land Use Permit which allows all cottage owners access. 2: Septic and grey water. How and who will monitor this and if changes need to be made which party will be responsible to enforce them and under what time line could we expect any changes to occur. 3: Fish management. Are there any plans for restocking the lake with lake trout or splake? What will the policies on live bait be, ie minnows, worms, leeches? 4: Canoe route and camping management. Under whose authority will this fall and what would the plans for enforcement be? Are there any plans to support these activities on the lake and still have a clean environment. ie, outhouses at certain points and a means to dispose of garbage. 5: Watercraft use and or restrictions. What kind of changes can be expected and the time line that will be given to make these changes? Will there be restrictions on motors sizes, age of motors etc.. We think that should restrictions come into play, current property owners should be grandfathered. Also what studies have been done to show the harm done on the lake to show why changes are needed? 6: Water management policies. In the past we have had some large fluctuations of the lake level. We would like to know which party would be responsible for controlling lake levels and what guidelines would be used. 7: Future development. If a property owner wants to replace a structure, ad on to an existing structure, or build an brand new structure, what would the criteria be and how would they go about fulfilling this criteria? Will any commercial development be permitted and if so what would the criteria be? What is meant by "future potential development"? 8: Forestry Management. What would the rules be for cleaning up deadfall and the burning of that wood in a fire pit or wood stove. What will be the policies dealing with Fire management, Forestry protection and future planning?
