Dear Mr. Motluk:
RE: 019-4029 Proposed Change to Ontario Regulation 328/03 – Leave to Construct Cost Threshold for Hydrocarbon Pipelines
Thank you for giving the Industrial Gas Users Association (IGUA) the opportunity to comment on the above amendments. IGUA represents Ontario’s largest industrial natural gas consumers from the chemicals, steel, forest products, mining and manufacturing sectors. Our members create jobs and contribute to the provincial and local economies, many in remote and rural areas. Access to reliable and competitive energy including natural gas is key to their competitiveness and ability to attract investment.
As stated in our submission of April 27, 2021 IGUA has no objection to the proposed increase in the threshold for triggering an OEB Leave to Construct application, and to the proposed amendments to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) Leave to Construct Cost Threshold for Hydrocarbon Pipelines.
Best regards,
Shahrzad Rahbar, PhD, ICD.D
President
