Saving the environment is of paramount importance to me and will be critical for our children and their children - if there are any.
Anything which will encourage the implementation of sustainable forms of energy and will severely curtail the use of fossil fuels must be undertaken quickly. Our government is predisposed, it would seem, in spite of election promises, to favour multinational corporations who want to exploit as much of the potential for fossil fuel extraction as possible before common sense overtakes us. But by the time the government finds the gumption to put on the brakes it may be too late. The carbon tax will at least slow our descent.
I suggest that the tax be used to subsidize alternative energy.
