Revoking the Official Plan…

Revoking the Official Plan for these lands is a mistake.

Development takes time. When developers start the process, they need guarantees that their proposal will be considered. Official Plans give them that guarantee.

If provincial government starts repealing Official Plans, that guarantee is gone. Development can only be guaranteed until the next election, and respected developers won't be able to justify risks to their shareholders.

**Also, if you're changing the proposed development plan, you should give the municipality funding to adjust: new sewers, roads, facilities, etc. will be coming at a time when they have not budgeted for it.
