I strongly disagree with Bill 4, the repeal of the Cap and Trade Program. I believe that this program is making a huge impact on carbon emissions as well as encouraging stronger infrastructure and development of green technology.
It is becoming evident that those economies that are leading the charge in green technology will be benefitting from their advancements (in sales, in manufacturing, in reduced costs related to energy). Those provinces and nations mired in their love affairs with fossil fuels will soon find themselves paying heavily for overhauling their infrastructure and purchasing foreign companies' technology.
People say, "If you want to buy an electric car, why should we pay for it?" Because, by NOT incorporating subsidies for cars and for charging stations, those who might pay full pop for an electric car continue to be concerned about the availability of charging stations, the availability of the cars themselves, the access to services. We are getting closer and closer to having the technology in which it is not only entirely practical for everyone to own an electric car but actually less expensive, higher performing, quieter, longer running, ... These advancements are completely negated by your repeal of Bill 4. PLEASE RECONSIDER.
Change is always challenging but it doesn't take a fortune teller to show us that moving backwards in terms of fossil fuels and carbon emissions is choosing the wrong track — Provincially and Federally.
