Permitting needs to be streamlined to a one stop shop Municipal office. Too many other services in the mix, ending up take much longer than required or game of broken telephone. Never ends well.
CA's need to focus on core mandate, don't continue to grow area of jurisdiction , revue of mapping or add new criteria for increase screening areas at a whim using pretext of new information required for unknowns.
Define low risk developments like minor buildings (garages, additions) and develop a streamlined process or remove from process altogether. Also need to revaluate the permit requirements of additional items such as grading plans(unless needed), wetland compensation plan, environmental impact studies that are not needed for minor builds on residential private property. Most of these items cost thousands of additional money before obtaining a permit and increasing wait times.
