I'm concerned about the loss of park land and green open space in Vaughan with the proposed revocation of the Parkway Belt West Plan. The open space and recreational areas around the 407 Highway ETR are used frequently by hikers, joggers and walkers. This was a refuge during lockdowns for many people, providing mental health benefits and needed physical exercise. These open spaces and recreational areas have also served as wildlife corridors for birds, deer, foxes and coyotes. Losing open spaces and recreational areas as a result of the PBWM would have consequences for avian and mammal species.
