The practice of using live animals to train hunting dogs is archaic and inhumane. Surely our societal values have evolved beyond that. I used to watch the retriever trials at the Sportsman Show and those animals were trained by other means. My sister used to compete her dog in scenting competitions and no live animals were subjected to abuse there either. It's an unnecessarily cruel practice and we're better than that!
