There is absolutely no reason to promote this barbaric practice. Hunting dogs are perfectly capable of learning skills "on the job", not with animals that are cruelly confined and have no chance of escape. How can you state that train and trial areas are used to "provide a dedicated space for training where dogs and wildlife are contained and safe" when the very purpose of these spaces is for innocent wildlife to be torn apart by dogs? The public is horrified by the use of dogs and cats as bait-animals in dog fighting; how is this any different? Wildlife deserves to be treated humanely during hunting activities. I am continually disgusted by how this government always chooses profits over wildlife and green spaces, but this is a new low. Please reconsider issuing new licenses and instead consider banning this practice entirely.
