The statement is good in that it mentions protecting animals, but, in order to protect animals, mines must stop testing their effluent on laboratory fish in acute lethality tests and other animal testing. Mines must stop dissecting other animals too (tree swallows, wood frogs, etc). A switch to Modern, Cruelty Free research into toxicology is mandated under Canadian law. Please ask the Canadian government to change its laws on mining effluent to allow Ontario mines to go cruelty free.
