Legislation to return lands to the Greenbelt must be forthcoming quickly.
This is also an opportunity to add land to protect moraines, to include the Grand River Watershed that provides drinking water to millions, and the south Simcoe area. The Blue Belt needs to be included with the lands returned to the Greenbelt.
Without healthy water systems including wetlands and some of the best soil in the world, Ontario's future is bleak.
Losing 318 acres per day in Ontario is shortsighted at best! Returning the land to the Greenbelt is a first step but other steps must be taken!
