As an agricultural based community, this will have a massive detrimental effect on the local environment which is required to keep our farms functioning. Alongside that, Dresden has also been actively working to become a destination for people looking to escape to the country, with thousands coming to the two markets they hold annually.
The smell and traffic of the landfill would bring down housing market values and the smell would drive away the market visitors who bring such a boost each year to the town economy. The new businesses that have been moving into town would stop, and business would be lost by those already there.
This is an incredibly unfair punishment to a small town that has been able to find success during difficult times.
