Waterloo Region developed a strong Regional Official Plan but it was rolled back. The new plan threatens the regional recharge areas, which absolutely must be protected from development to preserve our community's clean water supply. This issue is even more urgent given the long-term population growth of the region - water and farmland should not be sacrificed for short-term priorities. Please remove these areas from the proposed Urban Areas designation.
