Please reconsider this bill. We live in a time when the opportunity to slow our deadly effect on the environment is short.
The 407 is under-utilised. A reduction in the toll would be so much more cost-efficient than a new highway.
Southern Ontario is running out of wild spaces and all of the parks within a 4 Hour drive of Toronto are under excess pressure from too many visitors.
Southern Ontario is also home to the best farmland in the province and is deserving of every protection to maintain our ability to feed ourselves.
Conservation Authorities have worked for over 50 years to protect us fromm flooding, both by controlling water flow and by protecting headwaters areas. At the same time they have provided much needed green space and a learning environment. Their programs are especially needed now.
Please reconsider.
