Bill 185 is an open door to corruption! Provincial control of municipal and regional boundaries, planning and policies is a disaster in the making. This is a huge overreach and will not result in more housing at all! There is enough land for housing without sprawl into farmland and over wetlands!
This is short sighted at best although the parking minimums, multiunits, and housing designs may prove helpful. The lack of appeal for anyone but developers is just too blatant! It would remove the feedback and voices of too many!
The bully power grabs without proper consultation denies the time, expense and planning already done! Not listening to municipalities and regions and citizens in undemocratic and high handed. There are too many negative implications, precedents and disastrous effects of some of this legislation.
