I strongly support extending this moratorium. It is absurd that private corporations are able to purchase Canadian natural resources for pennies and then sell these to the public for giant profits.

I agree whole heartily with the request to extend the moratorium on permits to take ground water for the purpose of bottling it. Our community of centre Wellington is growing at an alarming rate and water needs for this community should be a priority!

I'm glad that there has been a 1 year moratorium extension however I hope that either the moratorium is extended indefinitely or there is a complete phase out of water bottling permits.
It is time to go beyond a simple moratorium on permits for bottled water. With water being a treasured resource of Canada and with ever increasing pollution by plastic water bottles it is time for the Ontario government to start the process to discourage and even shut these bottling plants down.

There are so many alternatives than plastic bottled water. The draining of water from rivers is detrimental for the environment. The making of the plastic containers and the recycling of the containers use energy that in my opinion is an extreme waste causing more pollution to the environment.
I completely support the extension of the moratorium on water taking. The community's needs, future growth and the unpredictable nature of climate change make all commercial water taking very questionable.

The government proposal to amend Ontario Regulation 463/16 extending the moratorium on prohibiting the extraction of groundwater by commercial operations, namely Nestle Waters Canada, until January 1st, 2020 is a step in the right direction.

We also need to do a proper consultation with First Nations as nation to nation not corporation to nation.

Saving groundwater for Ontario when we need to makes sense. Transitioning away from wasteful habits also makes sense. Strong decision making is needed today to protect our future.
Why would our elected officials allow a foreign multinational corporation take one of our most important resources at all, let alone at a price which is outrageously low.

I am against the commercial mass taking of water by Nestle Waters and others.
I find it impossible to believe that the mass taking of groundwater is without effect to the environment.
