I do not support allowing rural communities the ability adjust their settlement area boundaries and to further incentivize urban sprawl and the paving of employable agricultural lands. Lire davantage

It is crucial that we preserve all of our remaining green space and focus residential and business growth on already developed areas by increasing density and allowing the green space to be reserved for recreation, agriculture, or conservation. Lire davantage

I strongly agree with this amendment. Allow municipalities to the ability to "transition" and provide realistic facts, instead of being forced to comply with the unrealistic versions of a government that refused to consult with the municipalities.

This section of the planning document is the one which has the most to be concerned about. We currently have some of the best agricultural land in Canada in our area. It is constanly under threat from development - both from city governments and from developers. Lire davantage

The amendments to the Growth Plan are not good for Ontario. The majority of the municipalities in the Greater Golden Horseshoe have enough unused land within the built-up boundaries to supply housing and commercial land for the next 10 years. Lire davantage

The proposed Growth Plan opens up sensitive farmland, forests, and watersheds to sprawl development by changing the Growth Plan in areas not covered by laws like the Greenbelt Act. Lire davantage

The proposed changes to the Growth Plan need to be modified or withdrawn for the following reasons. 1. The changes promotes sprawl driven planning – by weakening the ‘standardized’ land needs assessment methodology recently put in place by the province in early 2018. Lire davantage

The proposal seems to be one that protects farmland. However, it is also stated that it will enable "unlocking land for residential development." It is hard to see how these opposing aims can be accomplished. Lire davantage

I'm concerned that the proposed changes to the Growth Plan will lead to more urban sprawl and a disorganized approach to planning. Lire davantage

The proposed growth plan changes put our farmland, forests and watersheds at risk. We want livable communities, not more urban sprawl. There is more than enough land to meet housing needs to 2031 and beyond. Lire davantage

I believe that the Ontario government is bowing to the pressure of sprawl developers again. It appears that Premier Doug Ford is proposing opening up sensitive farmland, forests and watersheds to sprawl development by changing the Growth Plan. Lire davantage

The Growth Plan and proposed revisions to the plan are intended to increase housing supply and economic growth in the GGH. The growth envisioned by this plan will require 2.5 billion tonnes of aggregate in the GGH over the next 25 years, of which 1.5 billion tonnes is needed in the GTA. Lire davantage
