In the spring hunt, slow-moving mother bears who have just emerged from hibernation are easily targeted often leaving orphan cubs as collateral damage. Please dont let our bears be hunted.

Please preserve the black bear. We’ve done enough and continue to ruin our environment. Encroaching on areas that should otherwise be preserved and protected. Our need to constantly take instead of give or live in harmony with our environment is heart breaking. STOP the madness!

An outright ban is the only acceptable option. Murdering mother bears leaving their cubs to fend for themselves and often die alone. Where is the humanity in that? Why is it all about dollars and cents? Ban the hunt entirely.

I would just like everyone to know. These bears are not encroaching on our areas we have encroached on their living areas. These bears are not a danger if we would stop destroying the homes they live in. Please do not start a bear hunt again. The populations are finally growing because of the ban.

I am opposed to any additional “legalized” bear hunts. As it is, bears are taken illegally, so why give the hunters extra time to kill more. I also am not happy when I hear people talking of baiting bears with donuts and sit and wait for the bears to come to feed, then shoot. Lire davantage

I am completely against hunting of any animal, any time, for any reason. We are not gods to decide who is to live or die. That people "enjoy" killing innocent and defenceless animals is a moral and ethical fault in character and should not be granted the legitimacy of legislated approval.

I don't like the idea of a spring black bear hunt because of the bears with babies. They are at a tender age and have been in hibernation. No way should you be killing black bears especially when mothers have their little ones. Live where they are and have no problems with them. You just don’t feed them.
