Wildlife should never be taken from their natural environments and held captive by hunters. It’s especially cruel to use rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as pawns for hunters to train dogs and hold competitions. It is barbaric and against basic morality.

I didn't even know this was still legal until this consultation came up. My family has managed to hunt for the last 3 generations without needing this fox hunt bullshit. Lire davantage

The practice of trials and training of dogs in this manner is a horrific and torturous process for the wild animals involved. As a province - and country - we should strive to eliminate these training areas. There is no humane way to run a facility that captures and tortures wild animals.

I feel strongly that this is a very unnecessary change that wouldn't be supported by a large majority of Ontario's citizens. Lire davantage

Its cruel and not necessary. It is just for sport but will harm other living things in torturous ways in these hunting cages for the victim animals.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNR) has been phasing out this harmful practice since 1997, and it would be a massive step backwards for the province to allow new licences to be issued, and to allow the transfer of existing licences. Lire davantage

We are in 2023 and need to move on from past cruelty and into a new era of growth and respect for wildlife. There is no need to train dogs using live animals. Stop wasting money on senseless cruelty and move us forward not backwards. This is not necessary

I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Opening applications for train and trial spaces after 25 years is a massive step backward into the past. Lire davantage

I do not agree nor will I participate in the usage of wild animals in inhumane conditions and treatment for the training and competitions of hunting dogs. Ontario should not pass this outdated and unethical proposal.

This is a massive misstep and is unnecessarily cruel to animals. As a veterinary professional, and a firm believer and supporter of the One Health initiative, I cannot in good conscience stand for this sort of legislation. Lire davantage

Keeping wild animals penned their whole lives just to be used as "training" material for hunting dogs is cruel and inhumane. I'm willing to bet there are much more effective trailing methods that dont involve torturing innocent wildlife. This should not be passed.

I hunt, and this is barbaric. Clearly our current government has no conscience. Doug Ford has reached a new low.

Opening applications for train and trial spaces after 25 years is a huge step backward into the past. These facilities have no place in Ontario.

I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals who are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt. Lire davantage
