This is an inhumane proposal and is a backwards step in abolishing cruelty to animals. Canada has a social responsibility to protect our natural environment, including animals not only for our generation but future generations.
This is completely unnecessary, and cruel in this day and age. The government is once again making a change that few people if any have asked for, and that the majority of the population would not support.
This proposal should not go through as it is inhumane. We should be preserving and protecting wildlife, not using them as part of our game. It’s ridiculous that this is even a thought, there are other ways to train and exercise hunting dogs without having to affect lives.
This inhumane and cruel treatment of wildlife must not be allowed. It is heartbreaking to think of the fear those animals must feel. We know so much more now than we did decades ago about how animals’ experience the world; let’s it move backwards.
Please reconsider this inhumane change to the Conservation Act that will allow wildlife to be trapped and used as bait in pens for hunting dogs.

I am disgusted and appalled that our government is allowing this to happen. What is the purpose of this? Wildlife doesn't bother us unless we bother them. We already take away their homes daily with construction. This is unjust, unfair and inhumane. This promotes animal cruelty.

I am disheartened to see this proposal put forth. I strongly and categorically OPPOSE and REJECT the MNRF’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. This is a barbaric and archaic practice!!!

No just a hard no from me. Why is the government trying to move us backwards into the dark ages. Hunting is no needed to feed families and is really not what I would consider a sport. We need to protect wildlife not use them for hunting “pleasure “!
This proposal does not take into account the physical well-being of the game animals. This "training" allows for unregulated harm to these animals by dogs. This is horrific and shameful.
I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario.
Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals that are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt.

I am deeply disturbed by this proposal. This practice is not only shameful and inhumane, it’s incredibly cruel. I hope our government seriously considers not following through with this proposal.
This isn’t right!!!! It’s animal cruelty and should not be passed. Anyone with a compassionate brain would realize that. This act was abolished back in the 70’s and it needs to stay that way. Shame on our government for even considering this.
The status quo, 24 areas, is enough. This Govt (with a Ministry of Red Tape Reduction) has not demonstrated the ability to monitor facilities within various Ministries to ensure they are complying with mandates, or health and safety, and they have shown no ability to enforce regulations.

The idea this is even being considered is barbaric. If the province allows this they should be ashamed of themselves. People can train their hunting dogs in other ways. ( Or not use them at because the hunting dogs I know are really poorly treated)
I do not support this proposal. I find it hard to believe that the majority of Ontarians would either. This is one of many proposals and plans by the provincial government to destroy nature in favour of commercial enterprises. This is not acceptable.
