I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals that are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt. Lire davantage

This is animal cruelty and should not be legal. Wild animals, regardless of how they are obtained, should not be terrorized and subjected to inhumane deaths for any reason, least of which, "sport". This is disgusting.

This is inhumane to animals. Wild animals should never be removed from their original habitat to be used to train hunting dogs. Lire davantage

This is a regressive, cruel and inhumane proposal. It trains dogs to attack smaller animals as "prey", making them dangerous to other animals. It takes society backwards, rather than forward. The people who enjoy this primitive "sport" ought to be discouraged rather than accommodated. Lire davantage

Hidden in an omnibus bill entitled Less Red Tape, Stronger Economy Act. This is to massively obfuscate. Rich members of elite equestrian clubs want to spend their afternoons torturing some coyote they caught via their especially bread and trained dogs and quasi military telemetric devices. The quote from John Bell, president of the Ontario Sporting Dog Assoc. “the closure of dedicated training and trailing areas have forced hunters to run their dogs in the wild” seems like a desperate attempt to convince you to allow his inhumane practice. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose using trapped animals such as foxes and coyotes to train hunting dogs. It reminds of such barbaric practises as bear baiting. Lire davantage

As much as coyotes are a nuisance I am strongly against the inhuman torturing in enclosed pens. There has to be another solution to keeping the population down.

Who will train these dogs to control the “prey drive”? If Ontario is taking this route, why are “pit bulls” banned in Ontario? Who will be training these dogs? Dogs with “prey drive” do Not make good pets so how will this be handled…more bites, aggressiveness in dogs. Lire davantage

This proposal is dangerous and inhumane. Not only could people’s pets be put at risk, but the people themselves could also be put at risk of injustice. This is not the kind of hunting this province should be legalizing and promoting.

This is a horrid practice. Let's hunt you in a fenced area. My God what has the human race come to when they think it's OK to chase a terrified animal in an area it has no escape from. I could say more but not worth my words to the person that has proposed this.

I am deeply disturbed to learn that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, a sector of the government that I have always previously respected and have even previously been employed by, is looking to provide new licenses for penned training facilities for dogs to learn to hunt. Wildlife should never be taken from their natural environments and held captive by hunters. It’s especially cruel to use rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as pawns for hunters to train dogs and hold competitions.

It is absolutely sickening that people have to write in opposition to a proposal that allows wildlife to be stolen from their habitat then tortured by dogs being trained to kill them. These kind of sadistic places need to be closed down permanently.

Please do not allow this. It is wrong on so many levels. It cruel to the wildlife and what person in their right mind would want to train their dog to kill another animal. How can those dogs be deemed safe to have them in our society after that? Please stop this from happening.

I don't agree with training dogs to hunt penned coyotes or any other wild animals. I like the idea of dogs being "man's best friend," rather than killers. What kind of life is it for these dogs? What happens to the dogs when they get too old to hunt? Lire davantage
