I support the Region of Waterloo Regional Official Plan because it has a long history, developed through our Regional politics to develop a strong Countryside Line, that is designed to reduce urban sprawl, and reduce traffic pollution.

Please approve Waterloo Region's Official Plan Amendment 6. Keeping the city limit will encourage more of us to shifting to public transport. More demand will create a better service. This creates equity and is good for the environment.

The Waterloo Region expended a great deal of research and consultation with scientific experts and constituents to approve a development plan that will conserve land for farming while meeting reasonable and affordable goals to increase accessible housing targets.

Waterloo depends on ground water for water supply. By paving more farmland, we'll be putting up more barrier for rain and surface water to reach underground aquifers. At the same time we have been allowing our heritage water source to be depleted by unregulated farming and industrial practices.
