Why would we not come up with a plan to develop in area that do not have irreversible impacts on our green spaces and wetlands. Is the job of this generation not to leave a legacy of preservation and sustainability. Find another place to build!

I am a PhD student and educator with experience working in social services, healthcare, policy, social research, and education fields. The lack of scientific rigor found in the proposal is appalling. Lire davantage

It is entirely inappropriate to remove the MNRF, Conservation Authorities & Regional Authorities from land use planning decisions, appeals and aspects of the OWES. They have the expertise and EDUCATION to be effective in these roles. Lire davantage

Bill 23 is wrong on many levels. Environmental experts and urban planning experts unanimously agree that the government is on the wrong track with this Bill. Stop the attack on the green belt. Stop pandering to the developers who only care about their financial gain.

These changes seek to allow development of what few wetlands we have remaining in Ontario. They are short-sighted and do not benefit the people of Ontario. These changes will not be helpful to the people of Ontario in the future as the climate crisis worsens.

Please reconsider using land of the green belt for housing. We need to save this land for future generations, to ensure clean water, preserve species and maintain the farmland that feeds us. Please look at the long-term situation and build infill housing and repurpose land on brownfield sites

This is probably the worst bill this government has proposed - and that is saying something given this government's track record. Lire davantage

I am concerned that the proposed changes to the wetland evaluation system will lead to abuses of the system by private interests with little oversight from conservation authorities or MNRF. Lire davantage

What is the purpose of conserving? If one government didn’t or can’t rezone how can another simply walk in and change the rules. We need to save the precious spaces not only for wildlife but for us. We aren’t meant to live in concrete jungles. If it’s protected- protect it.

I am strongly opposed to these changes. These updates are not “ bold and transformative action”, but instead reflect the actions of a corrupt government looking to profit the rich at the expense of the poor. Lire davantage

Isn't it a legal conflict of interest if the entity that wants to destroy the wetland is the one that gets to have final approval? Taking away the checks and balances is the wrong way to go.

Wetlands are a significant natural resource to be protected especially considering the number of species at risk and species at risk habitats that it provides for. We need to protect these important resources as they are also very important to Indigenous communities. Lire davantage

I am beyond appalled. This proposal will destroy the beautiful province of Ontario by paving over our existing greenbelt and green spaces while urban centers are left to decay. Infrastructure is disintegrating in most cities and towns. Wake up! All wetlands are significant. Lire davantage
