I strongly disagree with this proposal and feel that the experts have been ignored and that it will lead to multiple problems down the road. I do not know much so I don't have any suggestions other than LISTEN TO WHAT THE MAJORITY OF EXPERTS ARE SAYING

I am very sad to see the proposal being made by my Ontario government. The greenbelt has been a protected area that has benefited Ontariens and Ontario’s ecosystems since 2004. This course of action would reverse work ontariens fought hard for already. Lire davantage

The last thing the environment needs is this highway/building along the Greenbelt. There are empty commercial spaces in Toronto that aren’t even being used. Why should there be more to manage when it’s clear the Ford’s government can’t even handle what we already have. Lire davantage

Please explain why we need to develop housing on the Greenbelt in Ontario when we have so much spaces space that could easily be repurposed and are much more accessible and require much less effort. We don’t need more mansions, we need more affordable housing.

I am extremely concerned about the new proposal to build on the green belt an area which Ford previously stated he would not touch. This area has been protected for years and is home to a variety of animals and plants. This area should continue to be protected. Lire davantage

Not in favour of taking away green space. It’s horrible and toxic to creat more pollution and destruction. For the health of our population we need green space that is near to cities and accessible.

If this gets passed, I’ll know for sure that this government does not care about the people. Instead of fixing a problem, you’ll be creating a million new ones. Let start small and not make this world even more destined to fail. Give the next generation a fair chance! Lire davantage

As a Durham resident who frequents many of the trails the greenbelt has to offer, I am shocked at the proposed amendments of the Greenbelt plan in relation to Bill 23. Lire davantage

Please do not remove any protected land - the green belt is an important resource for Ontario and it’s destruction or reduction would cause economic issues for Ontario. I high recommend repurposing current land/buildings to compensate for the lack of housing. Lire davantage

Pretending that the solution to our housing crisis is to make a bunch of endangered species homeless too is ludicrous. The Greenbelt is a treasured natural landmark in Southern Ontario and needs to be protected. Doing any less is hubris.

This is a terrible idea. The majority of Ontario does not want to build on the greenbelt. Those are Doug Ford’s own words. We do not need mansions being built on protected land that only the rich will be able to afford. We need affordable housing in existing cities (i.e. Lire davantage

Perhaps, rather than destroying the current Greenbelt ecosystems with McMansions and the resulting roadway and commercial infrastructure, the government could look at repurposing and rezoning preexisting unused commercial properties and land in this Golden Horseshoe region to build high-density, low Lire davantage

We do not need a bunch of mansions on the greenbelt! We need affordable housing. Toronto and most cities have empty buildings that can be transformed into affordable housing. This is where our tax dollars need to be spent, along with healthcare and education. Stop hoarding money! Lire davantage

We don’t need a bunch of mansions on the green belt! in the GTA there are hundreds of unoccupied commercial properties that should be repurposed into low income housing - in city centres where people need to be to access work and resources. Lire davantage

Please leave the greenbelt alone. Once it is destroyed, paved over, built on or otherwise, it can not be restored. Greenbelts are critical to our health as a society. Let's find other areas to build.

I don’t want any part of this development. :30 drive time improvement for $10 billion dollars. There is also the impact on the environment. You Mr. Ford promised, because you listen to the people, NOT to open up the green belt for development. Lire davantage
