There is plenty of space to build high density residential spaces on existing land, that has NOT been tampered by humans. A few places that can be developed instead of destroying the greenbelt: 1) Retail malls with open parking spaces. Lire davantage

While I do understand that every year housing becomes more and more difficult to obtain due to multiple factors, I personally do not think it is a good idea to take land from our greenbelt as that will be adding to climate change by getting rid of more greenery. Lire davantage

I'm writing to call on the Ontario government to repeal Bill 23, as it will be an ineffective piece of legislation that is just going to benefit a handful of developers in the back pocket of the provincial government. Lire davantage

The more houses we build, especially if they are apartments and small houses, Away from sidewalks and traffic. the more important the Conservation areas become. They are places for citizens to enjoy fresh air, a walk in the trees, Do not take land from the conservation areas.

I am extremely concerned about this proposed amendment and the negative impact it will have on the environment. This is very shortsighted and a breach of the premier’s pledge to leave the greenbelt untouched. Lire davantage

This bill in its conception and in its passiing is undemocratic and corrupt. We need AFFORDABLE homes built vertically on previously dedicated land, not multi-million dollar estates built on precious Greenbelt lands. This is blatantly intended to line the pockets of the developers and Mr. Ford.

Doug Ford, you promised not to touch the Green Belt. That was smart because we must save wild lands, agricultural lands, wetlands and waterways. Now you are giving in to greed. You want to keep your Developer friends on your side, so that you can get their political support. NO, Mr Ford! Lire davantage

I am submitting my comments below against your Proposed Amendments to the Green Belt Plan. 1) The Greenbelt was established to ensure on-going protection. Its main purpose is to protect the existing land and curb urban sprawl. Lire davantage

As a resident in Hamilton I think it’s absolutely vile you’re trying to get rid of a Greenbelt for a highway most of Ontario doesn’t even want. We’re in a climate crisis this is ridiculously irreplaceable.

Having lived in the green belt for 40 years, there is no need to build here. We have already given up enough land for roads, sewage cleaning station and development. Taking this land will not solve the housing issue, it will only disturb the Rouge aquifers and the wildlife.

This Bill has nothing to do with building affordable homes - or any homes - faster. The Seaton development in Pickering has barely started and if the province wanted homes faster it would simply incentivize speeding up that development and the hundreds of others already in the system. My Family of 5 is against the development of the greenbelt land and Bill 23. The Majority of residents do not want development on the greenbelt. There has been no public consultation on this very important Bill. Lire davantage
