I do not support any removal of Greenbelt land for development, including housing. Urban sprawl is not the way forward to adding homes in Ontario. We need to add density and services to support that density in our cities. Lire davantage

This idea is ludicrous and offensive to Canadian values. There is so much potential to build new homes in existing urban areas that are already within infrastructure reach. Please do the right ethical, environmental, and social thing and cancel this disintegration of our valuable ecosystems! Lire davantage

Please don't develop these protected animals. We need green spaces, animals need it, healthy air and water needs it. It was protected for a reason. Lose 7500 acres but gain 2000, that's a massive loss and will devestate the ecosystem. Lire davantage

In a time of unprecedented danger from the effects of climate change, now is not the time to offer up a key section of our province to private and corporate donors of the Ontario Conservative Party. Lire davantage

Seriously? The last thing we need is to convert natural refuge into suburbs. Toronto and the GTA doesn't have a land issue, we have a housing affordability and low-density housing issue. Toronto has less than 1/4 the population density as Paris. We have no excuse. Lire davantage

I think protecting our green space is more important and using this lane to build single detached units does not make sense when there is a greater need for higher density housing which is often more affordable in public transit services areas. Lire davantage

Please leave the greenbelt alone. Build more housing in areas further away from the GTA and invest in better public transit (ideally running 24 hours) to move people to and from the city. We need to build up not out; taller condos in smaller cities.

Although this proposal wants to help solve the issue of housing with the planned influx of immigrants, it seems like an overly simplified solution to a complex issue. How does the proposal consider the environmental impacts? Lire davantage

This seems like a bandaid solution at best. We should not be removing any greenbelt land to develop residential or industrial properties; it defeats the whole purpose of having a protected greenbelt. Lire davantage

Please leave the greenbelt as is. Make it easier through incentives to build low rise apartments where infrastructure already supports the growth in smaller towns around the province and create entire new towns in the north instead of more urban sprawl in the GTA. Lire davantage

Please do not build on Green belt. Large expensive homes are not affordable. Instead change the landlord tennant act and rent control. More home owners and aging population would be more amenable in sharing their space and earning income to offset the high cost of living. SD Lire davantage

This is not a good idea. It won’t solve housing as it is not placing housing where people need it to be. It will hasten pollution, climate catastrophe and basically once it’s lost it’s forever gone. Our children will never forgive us for this.

we need more dense housing within the cities NOT urban sprawl. investing in good public transportation is key. there is no need to destroy the greenbelt and to build more single family detached housing. we need more 3-6 story apartment buildings or townhouses in dense areas.

As much as I support affordable housing, destroying the green belt is not the answer. There are many other ways to support Ontario residents and protect the flora and fauna that live in the green belt. Lire davantage

This government is leaving me deeply concerned by its complete inability to deal honestly with the people of Ontario, and paving the greenbelt is yet another example of why the PCs didn't get my vote, and never will under Ford and his policies. Lire davantage
