Changing policy with a "housing at all costs" approach is only going to create and amplify other problems down the line. What good is more (if builders even build it) housing when there are no jobs or food or clean environment anyway. Lire davantage

why does this remove all the "intensification first" approach? why does it just encourage sprawl when we know that is bad planning? why does it remove investment certainty for business now that people can build condos next to concrete batching facilities whenever they want? Lire davantage

I feel the Settlement Area Boundary Expansion section regarding Greenbelt lands also needs to be revised. The current 10 hectare limit for Greenbelt lands is too small and needs to be increased and flexible based on the individual needs of each municipality. Lire davantage

I understand that Waterloo region's official plan had additional areas designated for development by the government, despite the communities wishes and that no hydrological studies have been done to ensure their ground source water won't be impacted or the supply itself can sustain more residents. I stand against this. Allowing for this broad sweep of exemptions from provincial policy and land use plans is contrary to the purpose of the Planning Act, and inconsistent with provincial interests defined in the Planning Act.
