This bill will do absolutely nothing to reduce congestion in any meaningful way. Lire davantage

You are supposed to be a government without red tape. Why are you guys added more work that is a municipal issue? Leave the bike lanes to the municipal government where it belongs. Worry about the bigger picture like housing and health care.

This is absolutely ridiculous policy. We should be reducing red tape, not increasing it. This policy is against bike lanes. Municipalities know their needs best. Let them decide where and how to add bike lanes.

Please do not go through this. We need bike lanes as they are far safer for cyclists and reduce traffic.

Building more lanes and highways will NOT ease congestion. All it does is induce demand for more cars on the road. There have been research and studies already made on this. If you want to reduce congestion, you have to offer more efficient alternative modes of transportation. Lire davantage

I think that removing the bike lines in some cases, especially in busy urban areas is a great idea and will keep people safe. Looking forward to this in Ottawa. The bike lanes downtown are a disaster for drivers and pedestrians alike.

OVER-REACH, OVER-REACH, OVER-REACH. Let cities determine for themselves if they need bike lanes. What about the homeless? What about the drug addicts? What about the high cost of groceries. What are you doing about those issues? Where's my buck a beer?

I highly doubt this bill will do anything useful for the citizens of Ontario. Bike infrastructure is incredibly important, and allowing the Ford provincial government a say in where and when these are created will ONLY serve to hold back progress.

Not sure where data is coming from that more “pro-auto” infrastructure is needed when that will just cause more traffic. Ontario public transportation is either non existent or crumbling. Lire davantage

I am strongly against the addition of this legislation which adds more red-tape and government oversight into the constructions of bike lanes in my city. There is no good reason for not letting municipalities handle these kinds of small-scale infrastructure projects themselves.

According to evidence, bike lanes decrease congestion. Removing bike lanes or preventing development of more bike lanes will add to the congestion and will make streets unsafe for bicyclists. I worry that cyclists will begin riding bikes on the side walk, making it unsafe for pedestrians.

I do not support this bill. I support bike lanes. I also strongly support the Environmental Assessment Act and for it being adhered to in the construction projects for and around Highway 413.

This neglects the needs of actual residents within municipalities, and will lead to more gridlock within cities. Cars take up more space than bikes, public transport + cycling should take priority over car traffic within high density regions like Toronto. Gridlock is caused by cars, period. Lire davantage

The research has been done. This is not up for debate anymore. Reducing bike lanes does not fix congestion. The province has no right to have control over this with baseless claims that this is or is any part of the solution. This is a waste of time and energy.

It is worrying that the province is seeking to put in place measures that would delay progress in improving transit in the city of Toronto. Lire davantage

This province needs more bike lanes, not less. Bikes should have a barrier to separate them from irate car drivers. More people would be safely biking if there was proper infrastructure to do so. I am one of them. Lire davantage

Bike lanes do not carry traffic. They are good for cities, communities and streets. They are good for the environment and they save lives. Please abandon this ridiculous legislation.

This idea is ridiculous. I bike along the bloor bike lane everyday to work. If you remove the bike lane, I won’t stop biking, which means I’ll be impeding traffic by going half the speed. It won’t solve anything. Lire davantage
