I have a concern of the entirety of this proposal, but especially the environmental implications. Lire davantage

This bill is provincial government overreach. The provincial government shouldn't waste money on this initiative when they should be focused on bigger items that affect the whole province. Taking this item out of local jurisdiction is ridiculous and wastes time and money. Lire davantage

Bike lanes support equality. Biking in the city offer those that are most financially disadvantaged, an affordable and low impact mode of transportation. Lire davantage

I oppose the passing of this bill by the Ontario government. This represents serious interference with the operation of cities and towns by the elected officials who intimately work with and in the cities and towns. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes is not the solution to reducing congestion in Toronto. The best way to increase people movement is through public transit and discouraging the use of personal cars. Public transit reduces congestion, carbon footprint, noise and pollution. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my concern regarding the proposed legislation to remove bike lanes on Bloor Street, Yonge Street, and University Avenue in Toronto, and the broader framework for provincial oversight of municipal bike lanes. Lire davantage

This act is bullshit. It doesn't save time or easy congestion. It's another money wasting proposal of the ford government. It endangers the lives of cylists. It also allows the province to control programs that are not part of their purview. Lire davantage

Bike lanes don't slow down traffic. Illegal parking slows down traffic. Blocking the box slows down traffic. Drivers looking at their phone slows down traffic. The key to keeping Toronto moving is proper law enforcement.

There are too many cars in cities including Toronto as-is. You should not be removing bike lanes to add car lanes. You are discouraging bike use and encouraging car use. This will add to the car traffic of our cities. Lire davantage

This is clearly a politically driven policy with very little basis in reality and the government should be ashamed that it is wasting time and money on this solution when there are very many more tangible solutions to solve the traffic problem including tolls, congestion taxes and investment in publ Lire davantage

The removal of bike lanes in Toronto will increase cyclist and pedestrian injuries and deaths due to the lack of safe infrastructure for them to move through their city and be protected by increasingly large private vehicles. Lire davantage

Ripping out bike lanes is not the answer to Toronto’s traffic issues. Bike lanes help reduce cars on the road, cut emissions, promote health and make Toronto a better city in which to live. Lire davantage

Hello. I live and work in downtown Toronto. I agree that congestion is very much an issue in Toronto. But the solution is not to create more space for cars. The solution is to find ways of moving people. More space for more cars will simply lead to more congestion. Lire davantage

I very much disagree with this bill to remove bike lanes and require municipalities to cowtow to the provincal government to install more. What about your mantra of reducing red tape? Lire davantage

I use the bike lanes everyday. It is essential to my ability to live and contribute to the city. Removing them would be a disaster economically, socially and mentally.

Please, please, please, do NOT remove these bike lanes. They increase safety for citizens, and they already cost taxpayers a lot to install them. Taking them out makes no sense at all. Put that taxpayer money towards transit if you really want to reduce congestion.

I bike to work on Bloor from Dufferin and down University. Removing the bike lanes won’t make any difference to traffic. I am traffic. I will still be there. I will just be in more danger, which means I will have to ride in the middle of the lane, slowing traffic more. Lire davantage
