The construction or removal of bike lanes is not a provincial matter. Politicians should not be the ones making the decision to implement or remove of bike lanes. It should be a municipal decision with traffic experts and city planners. Streets are payed for all and should have space for everyone. Lire davantage

This is an awful idea. The bikes on Bloor and University are critical infrastructure and are used massively by the population. This will only create more congestion in Toronto.

I use the Danforth/ bloor bike lane to get to work every single day. Where I work is awkward to get to with TTC, so I’ll have to add yet another car to the rush hour congestion. Please reconsider this proposal.

As a long term Ontario resident I am very concerned with this approach both as a car owner and as a bike owner. I feel like this proposal makes it harder for car drivers to safely navigate the city but also increases risks for bikers. Lire davantage

This is a terrible, terrible proposal! Although I mainly get around by car and TTC, I do use a bike sometimes and am wholly in favour of bike lanes, and more bike lanes! Lire davantage

How about we actually base our policy on facts. There is NOTHING that supports removing these lanes other than your drive to win an election. This is absolute nonsense and you are jeopardizing the safety of your constituents for the sake of winning an election. Shame

Interesting that the bill is called saving you time, when it will now take me more time to bike to my workplace, my gym, my friends, my dinner reservations, etc. This will make gridlock worse and endanger people. Lire davantage

Dear Mr. Ford, Removing bike lanes from these major streets is something I absolutely do not support. This policy is going to cost the lives of cyclists and make pedestrian access to these streets more dangerous as well. Lire davantage

Do not remove bike lanes from downtown Toronto. This will not ‘improve gridlock’. This is a waste of taxpayer money. This bill is not supported by taxpayers. We fully reject this bill and the spirit behind it. Lire davantage

I'm horrified at this bill and the thought of losing bike lanes that cost money and time to install. It is 2024, and we are experiencing the effects of climate change. Traffic is a disaster because there are too many individual cars on our streets and roads. Lire davantage

This is the dumbest waste of money there ever has been. Tons of science and engineering tells you you will not improve traffic flow. You will make it worse and make the road network worse. Lire davantage

Please provide evidence that removing bike lanes on bloor, yonge and university will lead to improved flow of traffic please. What will the cost be and explain why it would be a good use of taxpayers money.

This does not look like it will solve the problem of gridlock. The best cities in the world for commuting have more methods of commuting in highly congested areas, the worse focus solely on personal motor vehicle. I’ve attached research from Manchester from 2018. Lire davantage

Dear Mr Ford: please keep going! I’m sick and tired of roads being reduced to make room for bike lanes that nobody uses. They’re multiplying like rabbits and solve nothing.

I cycle to reduce for my physical and mental health, as well as to reduce my reliance on my car. Bike lanes allow me safe options to cycle around the city. Evidence suggests: Bike lanes are good for business They’re good for the environment They’re good for public and personal health Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the removal of bike lanes. They won’t stop biking, simply make it more dangerous for those who bike. The data does not support this.

I drive, walk and bike in Toronto. I live just off of Bloor and Yonge Sts and not far from Hospital row. Bike lanes make getting around easier for me as a driver. Everyone behaves much more predictably and whether I am driving, walking or biking I feel much safer with the bike lanes there. Lire davantage
