Don't remove other forms of mobility on our roads. Cycling in Toronto promotes less cars and healthier lifestyles. It's pandering for elections and should listen to the planning institutes statement on it.

I am NOT in favor of the removal of bike lanes in Toronto, nor do I support the efforts of the Ford government to create additional barriers to the creation of more bike lanes. I will be joining protests, adding my name to petitions and voting against your government at the first opportunity.

Please keep the bike lanes in place. Their removal is not the answer to car traffic.

Cyclists are entitled to use a live lane of traffic. They don’t do this when there’s a bike lane. If bike lanes are removed, cyclists will take up a lane and cause gridlock. Bike lanes prevent gridlock, they don’t cause it. Ripping up bike lanes would be a huge mistake.

I’m a progressive-minded person, with a voting track record to match; in favour of initiatives that will support the climate and public health, but the bike lane addition on Bloor is a poor way of furthering these goals. Lire davantage

I live in Toronto and finally have started cycling to work now that there is a bike lane and I feel safe to do so. I’m healthier and have a shorter commute because of it. I’ll be casting my ballot for a bike friendly politician in the next election.

Dishonest. Undemocratic. Makes the city less safe and more difficult to get around. Will result in more deaths and more injuries and won't do a thing to ease congestion. Embarrassing government.

Atrocious bill. Bloor Street bike lane is providing safe way to commute on their bikes for thousands of people a day. It reduces the traffic dramatically. Lire davantage

There is no evidence at all to support having this legislation put in place at all. Yonge Street, University Ave and Bloor street are not highways and this proposal is essentially trying to turn them into that based on a whim. Lire davantage

This is an insane waste of money. I don’t know how long the construction will be to remove these lanes from the key arteries but that traffic will be nothing compared to the traffic caused by pushing cyclists into traffic. Can’t we just ban cycling all together? Lire davantage

The Ford government will be endangering bicyclists’ lives by removing these lanes. If they are removed is the solution for cyclists to take an entire lane on the road? I can’t think of another reasonable solution if the person is trying to get somewhere on Yonge, Bloor or University. Lire davantage

It’s a simple cost-benefit trade off that no reasonable person could possibly think makes sense to have bike lanes on main thoroughfare roads in Toronto. No further rhetorical explanation is needed because it’s so obvious. Lire davantage

Finally some sanity in this whole process. Our family resides within a block Bloor Street West and have so for over 30 years. I have biked for years in the city but would never take Bloor Street even with bike lanes...too many lights. Lire davantage

The three bike lanes in question on University, Bloor, and Yonge are essential to my ability to travel safely around Toronto. I say this as someone who has been hit twice by drivers, and who required five surgeries through multiple years to repair the damage done from the first such incident. Lire davantage

Please remove these bike lanes. They have made these roads impassable. It would make more sense to place them on quieter parallel streets, such as Harbord and Poplar Plains Crescent, which are also safer for cyclists to use and don’t have as great an impact on vehicular traffic. Lire davantage

Ripping up the bike lanes that were already put in is a waste of money. If the ford government wants to reduce congestion they should be removing street parking instead.

I live in the Davisville area (and have for 20 years), and drive on Yonge, University, and Bloor, where the bike lanes exist, on a regular basis, several times a week. Lire davantage
