Getting rid of bike lanes is a preposterous idea. Tons of research has been conducted that says that adding car lanes only makes traffic worse. I am not a cycler, by the way. This is a step backward and waste of tax payers money since multiple cities allocated money to create bike lanes

It is very negligent of the Ford government to waste money on removing the bike lanes that have already been placed in vital portions of the city. It is very clear that he is being biased toward high earners, mainly in the etobicoke area. Lire davantage

We need less cars and more public transit and alternatives like bikes. Removing the bike lanes will not solve the gridlock problem. Stop being idiots.

I am shocked that removing bike lanes is even a topic of discussion when it comes to city planning and accessibility and creating a good city environment. The benefits of biking in a city are tremendous it reduces congestion. It’s a fast way to get around. Lire davantage

It is clear this is not an evidence based policy. There is no large city anywhere in the world that has fixed their traffic by endlessly building larger roads. Lire davantage

I do not support this Bill 212; I support these bike lanes. As a driver, this has made driving WAAAY easier, as we share the road in a less haphazard way.

This proposal is doesn't seem to be based on any kind of logical argument. There is no evidence to suggest that removing these bike lanes will decrease congestion. Lire davantage

What a waste of tax-payer money. Why should the province interfere in the decisions of cities and municipalities and cause more traffic and congestion by ripping up existing bike lanes? Lire davantage

I am opposed to this proposal. Driving in the GTA is horrible and that is why I chose to live in Bloor West Village when moving to Toronto 2 years ago. Lire davantage

Bicycle lanes help to reduce traffic congestion by encouraging people to travel by bicycle rather than by vehicle. Research has shown that they do NOT increase traffic congestion. Lire davantage

Please let the cities, towns and municipalities run their regions as they see fit. I don't see how the province 'knows better'. Feels like big brother or the NDP is running Queen's Park. Focus your resources on healthcare, infrastructure, housing and other big picture items. Lire davantage

This is not going to solve traffic issues on any of these streets. Cars will still be stuck behind bicycles and illegally stopped vehicles in the right lane regardless. With the increasing popularity of food delivery, the bike lanes are more important than ever. Lire davantage

I am providing these comments with the hopes that the provincial government will re-consider its position on bike lanes and leave those decisions in the hands of the municipal governments. I have reviewed the framework for Bill 212 and would like to provide feedback on the proposal details: Lire davantage

Every major city in North America and Europe has well established bike lanes within the city limits. New York one of the most car dependent cities I would think on earth has one of the best downtown bike lane systems I’ve ever witnessed and minimally, disrupts, traffic or parking or anything. For the love of God, since when is overriding local municipality decisions by a provincial ministry a conservative principle? And since when is it smart? Lire davantage

I whole heartedly disagree with this legislation. There is no evidence that bike lanes contribute to congestion. In fact, research suggests the opposite. They help ease congestion. Why is the government so keen to ignore the data and operate on feelings alone? Lire davantage

I strongly oppose this bill as it is not only an irresponsible use of tax payer's money but will also exacerbate the traffic problem instead of solving it. Lire davantage

The on street bike lanes in cities like Ottawa and Toronto save lives. Please build more of them. Cycling is a form of transportation and as such, shouldn’t require the use of side streets or other indirect routes. I frequent the stores and restaurants that are safely accessible by bike.
