I believe that limiting the expansion of bike lanes—and potentially reducing existing ones—would be a beneficial and safety-focused approach for everyone navigating busy urban areas like Toronto. Lire davantage

I've lived downtown for almost two decades and bike lanes are an essential infrastructure for a rapidly expanding population in a major metropolitan. Lire davantage

As a Conservative, I am sad to say I have been let down by the Ford government once again. This government is consistently trying to reduce services and infrastructure put in place to help citizens for seemingly their own benefit (Ontario Place/Science Centre/Greenbelt). Lire davantage

Reducing bike lanes in cities will only increase car traffic and pollution by eliminating an alternative mode of transportation. Build it and they will use it is a proven way of increasing cycling as transportation. Unsafe cycling will only result in less cycling. Lire davantage

I understand the desire to address volume of traffic on Ontario roads, however, a key element your proposal has missed is providing transportation options that get drivers off the roads and streets. Lire davantage

I do not agree with removing bike lanes. This is a move backward in environmental sustainability.

I am completely opposed to removing bike lanes. We need MORE bike lanes, not fewer. Our planet is in danger from climate change and reducing fuel consumption will reduce C02 emissions. Bicycles along with decent public transit and walking paths are some of the best ways to save our planet.

This is a horrible move for traffic congestion, for climate goals, for the safety of anyone who uses public infrastructure on and adjacent to roads. If you want to speed up traffic flow, give people SAFE and ENJOYABLE alternative ways to get around. So yes, that means designated bike lanes. Lire davantage

As a Torontonian who walks, drives and cycles city streets, I support bike lines. We know from evidence that bike lanes help to: - reduce gridlock - reduce greenhouse gases - get people moving faster Lire davantage

I use a bike to commute to work in Toronto. I also use a car. Traffic is terrible and people should be encouraged to use other modes of transportation in Toronto, such as public transit and bikes. Lire davantage

To whom this may concern, With all due respect, this proposal makes no sense. You're wasting taxpayer dollars and should stay out of the municipality's lane, pun intended. 1) This proposal makes no sense: Lire davantage

This proposal will not reduce gridlock, and the current government has no intentions on actually reducing travel times for commuters. Bike lanes are a solution to grodlock and a municipal responsibility. Lire davantage

I believe this to be of the worst bill I've ever seen put forth here in Canada. Ford is simply being a shill for his car industry buddies and his platform is the proof of all thats wrong with our politics and society, stop basing your policies on opinions and base them on provable facts.

What a disingenuous bill. This will only add more cars on the streets, causing more traffic. Talk about the absolute wrong “solution” to a problem. It doesn’t take a critical mind to realize how problematic this will be. Alternate options of transport is proven to de-congest traffic. Lire davantage

The personal vendetta that Doug Ford has against bike lanes needs to be brought to a hault. He is messing with not only municipal projects paid for by tax payers, but he's also putting the lives of Ontarians at risk. The safety of cyclists is important. Do not remove the bike lanes.

This is a terrible idea - keep cyclists safe AND improve automobile traffic by keeping cyclists in their own lane. This is an absolute overreach from the Ontario government to need to review bike lane proposals city-by-city. A disastrous proposal.
