I am a Toronto driver but I also use the bike lanes often when I want to get somewhere close by and if I didn’t have bike lanes I would be much less inclined to bike and would probably drive. More people on bikes means less in cars and better traffic

I am a cyclist and an engaged citizen of the Province of Ontario. Bill 212 is a major overstep by the provincial government on decisions that should be left to individual municipalities. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes - especially protected bike lanes like the one on Bloor - will increase the number of people driving, congestion, and accidents involving bikes and cars. If the Government of Ontario truly: Lire davantage

As someone who is not a cyclist, I have learned from multiple studies and from visiting foreign cities that have good bike and public transit infrastructure, that removing Bike lanes (and as such options for transit) is not the way to 'save time' as a city. Lire davantage

I dont understand how this is has been proposed as a solution when its never worked in the past. How i know this is because we are here right in 2024 and this is a supposed answer to the gridlock in mississauga. Lire davantage

Gridlock is a problem caused by too many cars, not too many bikes. There are many other solutions simply look around the globe. Making more space for care simply invites more cars into that space. Look at the 401- more lanes, more cars. Lire davantage

If anything we need more bike lanes. Not less. The city should be moving away from a car dominated city and more towards bikes and public transit. Getting rid of bike lanes means sentencing bikers to eventual accidents or death.

This bill is pure politics! No number of coments or rational thinking will change the direction and agenda that Doug Ford has set. When the bike lane are removed, there will be deaths and the blood that is spilled will be on Doug Ford's hands. No amount of spin will change these facts.

The provincial government through Bill 212 is overstepping its boundaries into what is a solidy municipal matter. This is not welcome in our communities where residents and local councils should have the final say on municipal infrastructure. Lire davantage

Perhaps it would make sense to put in new bike lanes before you rip up the old ones (that were just installed)?

This bill is utterly ridiculous, please don't do this. The growth of Toronto's downtown cycling network has been such a wonderful thing to see. Lire davantage

As a car driver and a cyclist, I am deeply saddened by the proposed removal of these bike lanes. Adding more lanes for cars, means more cars on the road, leading to more congested roads. Lire davantage

I am so disappointed by this proposed legislation. We are living through extreme climate changes - look at Spain for starters. This is not the time to start tearing up bike lanes and pushing the car as the ultimate form of transportation. Lire davantage

There are far more pressing issues in the province (putting healthcare and education aside) around transportation than removing bike lanes. This would make Toronto a farce on a global scale. Cities around the world are adding bike lanes not taking existing ones out.

This shortsighted bill will worsen traffic, degrade the environment, and takes decisions out of the hands of those who know their communities best: local representatives elected to serve their constituents. Please stop this bill. In more detail, looking at the claimed goals of the bill": Lire davantage

These Toronto bike lanes are very important for cyclist safety, and for encouraging more people to commute and travel by bike (which would then reduce the number of cars on the road and thereby reduce car traffic). Therefore, I disagree with the removal of these bike lanes. Lire davantage

I know comments like this never change anything, but I want to express my absolute disgust at how anti-human this plan is. Driving in Toronto has been a nightmare for years, and it's been getting worse. The planet is on fire. Lire davantage

Having more modes of transit available and being more viable will help alleviate traffic. Bikes will contribute to the cause in getting cars off the road and reducing gridlock
