This is a municipal government item which Doug Ford should not be involved in making changes on. It directly contradicts his own small government platform. Also, we should be increasing bike infrastructure to meet climate goals not reducing it.

This is a municipal matter. It should be up to the poeple of Toronto to make this decision via municipal elections and not the province.

We need to provide alternate modes of commuting other than cars to avoid traffic. Removing bike lanes will make it so that people need to rely on cars more, increasing traffic and congesting the traffic lane that you have now freed up after spending millions of taxpayer dollars. Lire davantage

This bill is absurd. Municipalities should have the ability to make their own transportation decisions. In addition, there is significant evidence indicating that bicycle lanes reduce congestion in the long term. Reconsideration is needed.

This whole proposal is an embarrassment. Building more capacity for cars just means more cars and more congestion. It's been proven that the best way to relive these things are offering alternate options, like bikes and transit.

Reducing the number of bike lanes and making it more difficult to add new bike lanes will only cause further car traffic on roads. Cycling offers people the choice of not driving to work or the store or wherever else they go. Lire davantage

Please for the love of god, do not get rid of any bike lanes. It’s only going to make traffic worse because now all those cyclists are going to be driving. As someone who lives downtown, it genuinely makes life easier to get around. I’m imploring you, please don’t get rid of any bike lanes. Lire davantage

This is perhaps the most childish thing this provincial government has proposed in a long time, and that's saying something. Is this literally the extent of our premier's ambition? This is how he wants to spend his time and our tax dollars? Lire davantage

Bike lanes are essential to the transportation of thousands of people everyday and make it a little bit safer to co-exist with cars. People who bike are not taking up space on roads by not having a car. Lire davantage

Removing the bike lanes in Toronto is a mistake. Especially on such a central route like Bloor Street. This city already prioritizes cars as the main source of transportation as it is. Lire davantage

This removes essential transportation infrastructure. We need to guarantee a standard of safety for vulnerable road users. Having separated cycling lanes is helpful as a driver so I do not have to constantly worry about sharing a lane with cyclists. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding Ontario Bill 212, the “Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, 2024.” As a cyclist living in Toronto, I am particularly alarmed by the potential safety risks and the undermining of local autonomy that this bill represents. Lire davantage

Removing Toronto bike lanes is a misguided waste of time, and will not be effective in reducing congestion caused by automobile traffic. Lire davantage

Bike lanes in Toronto and every city in our beautiful Province of Ontario are an important part of transportation and recreation. They should be encouraged to be built, not ripped out causing a waste of taxpayer dollars. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strong support for the development and preservation of bike infrastructure in our community. The recent proposal to remove existing bike lanes on primary roads, specifically on Bloor Street, Yonge Street, and University Avenue, is concerning. Lire davantage

I am having trouble understanding the logic. If I ride my bike to and from work on the Bloor and Yonge bike lanes and if you rip the bike lanes out, I am going to need to buy a car. This will lead to MORE gridlock, not less. Perhaps you should rip out the parking spaces so there is more roads!
