This bill is not only counter-productive to fighting gridlock, it is actively harmful toward the pedestrian and bicycle-using population of Ontario. Lire davantage

It is well proven that building bigger roads that make space for more cars does not "fight gridlock and get drivers where they need to go faster" in the long term. As an abundance of studies have shown, the opposite is true. Lire davantage

The removal of bicycle lanes will kill and injure people. Bicycle lanes improve safety not just for cyclists but also vehicles. Removing a lane of traffic for vehicles reduces the number of sideswipe collisions as vehicles no longer can make those lane changes. Lire davantage

Finally some common sense with respect to bike lane installations. We need the Bloor bike lanes removed!

I oppose this proposal. The province is meddling in municipal affairs, and these proposals set safety standards back, do not acknowledge alternate means of transportation, and are so short-sighted. Lire davantage

This bill is a direct attack on middle and lower class citizens. The only way I have to get to work every day Is by bike. Every day is a life or death event because there arent enough safe routes. Lire davantage

Any major metropolitan city is effectively designed to accommodate foot traffic and cyclists along with vehicles. Toronto currently doesn’t operate that way. For a “young” city, our infrastructure and planning is poorly designed focusing too much on motor vehicles. Lire davantage

Do not interfere with city politics and planning. This is unnecessary and an overreach of provincial powers. As a driver I LIKE BIKE LANES. It makes me feel safer as a driver and I appreciate how the roads are split. Bikes, transit, walking etc at the future. Metal boxes are not.

Your proposal states that you are "looking to fight gridlock and get drivers where they need to go faster" by removing cycle lanes that caused the removal of a traffic lane, and preventing such cycle lanes from being built in the future. Lire davantage

I am entirely opposed to this proposal to remove bike lanes. Travelling in our city has become a disaster, but we cannot blame bike lanes for the state we are in. Our transit is appalling. It is unreliable and UNSAFE. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes that are already in place - and working - seems like a big waste of money. I thought this government prided itself on financial responsibility? I am a driver and a cyclist and I consistently see the bike lanes around Toronto being used by a large number of commuters. Lire davantage

The city of Brantford has modified several streets from four-lane to two-lane with space for bike lanes and parking. This reduction of lanes for cars has worked well, in my opinion as a school bus driver, car driver, and occasional cyclist. Lire davantage

The bike lanes on Bloor are very dangerous. Parked cars next to bike lanes makes visibility poor when making a right hand turn onto Bloor street west of royal york. Very unsafe!

I do not support this legislation. As a driver, pedestrian, transit rider, and cyclist, I recognize (as smart, forward-thinking people do) that more cars and more roadways do not make for a workable city. Lire davantage

This is a terrible idea that will only result in further injuries to and deaths of cyclists. What will improve gridlock is having fewer cars on the road! That's a no-brainer. Ontario is increasingly becoming an unlivable province, and this new proposal only underscores that fact.

It is completely ridiculous to consider removing bike lanes along Bloor Street. I bicycle commute from Dundas West to Spadina along Bloor every weekday, and especially during rush hour, the bike lanes are packed with cyclists. Lire davantage
