To begin with, this is a serious overreach by the provincial government. Lire davantage

Removing the bike lanes will not solve any problems for folks in cars. It will only make congestion worse, especially in the short term. Doug Ford does not seem to care about the voices of Torontonians. Only the "folks" he chooses to listen to.

This is a ridiculously dumb bill that won't reduce traffic and the executive already knows it, or can't be bothered to do a second of research or consult their public service counterpart for a minute to ask for the facts. Lire davantage

How could someone look at the bike lanes and think taking them out would reduce traffic? The whole point of these lanes is to reduce the number of people driving, and giving them an alternative way to getting around the city. Lire davantage

As someone who is born and raised in Toronto, I can’t phantom a more stupid decision that makes this city worse. Wasting millions of dollars and years over the wet dream of the premier on Ontario. Lire davantage

I oppose the removal of bike lanes in Toronto. They are key for decongestion of traffic, and they provide a more affordable method of transportation.

We must save our bike lanes and invest more in bike lanes on main city arteries. Healthy cities are built around people, not cars. Lire davantage

Leave the bike lanes alone. Dont waste money tearing them up, they keep people safe and its an extreme waste of money to allow more room for a few more vehicles. Public transit and Bike Lanes Should be the main priority downtown toronto and in other major cities, not Private cars and trucks. Lire davantage

According to everything I have heard and read, this will not . Less bikes = more cars. More cars = More gridlock. In the future, there will only be more people and the roads in the city can only get so wide. You need to offer options i.e. bikes. Lire davantage

Hi, I live in DT Toronto, i commute to my work and my university using city bike. I do not own a car. Riding on bike lanes give me protection against 2 ton cars. Please don't get rid of the bike lanes, I pay as much taxes are car owners.

Please stay in your lane. This is not a provincial issue, this is for the city of Toronto to decide. Removing bike lanes will cause more people to turn to driving and put more cars on the road, which only makes the problem worse. It’s not hard to figure out. This is a huge waste of taxpayer’s money.

Taking away bike lanes is only going to add more cars to the road (for cyclists that return to driving), further endanger cyclists that continue to want to ride, and add more pollution. This doesn't solve congestion problems, it just causes more problems. Lire davantage

I disagree with this proposal because removing bike lanes, especially on busy streets like Bloor, Yonge, and University, will likely lead to more cars on the road, not less, worsening gridlock. Lire davantage

I can’t understand why the Ford government would remove existing bike lanes. So much waste. All this government does is waste money removing new/existing infrastructure like bike lanes, EV chargers and paying millions to get out of existing contracts & projects. Lire davantage

Without bike lanes on University & Yonge I would be driving more. This proposal will do nothing more than making traffic worse in Toronto.

I am a nurse at SickKids hospital and I rely on bike lanes on University Ave to get to and from work every single day. To use city money to destroy biking infrastructure is unconscionable and endangers the lives of so many, negatively impacting the daily quality of life of for thousands more. Lire davantage

It is unclear how the Ministry of Transportation will be in a better position than municipalities to make decisions about local transportation matters. Lire davantage
