This is the most ridiculous bill your government can pitch, It's so dumb. As cities are exploring options to get good transportation your government is stuck on keeping cars in the cities and making roads unsafe for all the people going about their day on foot. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes will make Toronto worse off for everyone, whether cyclists or not. No bike lanes will mean endangering the lives of those cycling, or choosing to drive which will inevitably cause more traffic. Lire davantage

All bike lanes in the city should be retained, removing them is short-sighted and will get people killed. Lire davantage

The province should have no say in bike lane matters. The bike lanes are very well used and provide a much higher degree of safety. Rather than making cycling less safe for road users, the province should focus on other issues and stop trying to buy votes from car users. Lire davantage

This bill adds more red tape and bureaucracy to an already slow system. This bill is an overreach by the provincial government. I believe the municipal government understands the needs of the City of Toronto better than the provincial government. Lire davantage

The removal of bike lanes is a regressive piece of policy. Torontonians deserve options other than cars when it comes to intracity transit. Lire davantage

This has to be the most stupid decision. Removing bike lanes will force bikers to drive their cars to work which will add to the traffic. How has adding a lane for cars ever solved a problem. See example: 401 through GTA. This is counterproductive and disastrous. Do better!

Removal of existing bike lanes is a backwards decision that makes no sense in a modern first world country

The proposed Bill 212 is an extraordinary overreach into municipal jurisdiction. It will prevent the installation of life-saving infrastructure that is an essential part of an efficient and forward-looking transportation system, wasting taxpayers’ money in the process. Lire davantage

removing the bike lanes is a terrible idea that will instead further contribute to traffic congestion and is an overall waste of money

This is a ridiculous over reach and a colossal waste of tax payer money. Especially when the routes are already finished or under construction. Lire davantage

This Bill goes against the governments own climate goals as limited as they are. Paving over wetlands, removing bike infrastructure, pushing more cars on the road.

Like most residents of Toronto, I believe the city needs more bike lanes. It's completely backwards thinking to remove them, not to mention a waste of tax payers money. Bike lanes have been proven to improve traffic, not reduce it. We need to start building cities to cater to more than just cars.

The proposal is contrary to the overwhelming body of research indicating that bike lanes reduce traffic, reduce accidents, and are good for business on those thoroughfares. https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/bike-lanes-impacts-1.7358319. Lire davantage

The provincial government should not be adding red tape and bureaucracy to municipal processes. Bike lanes provide increased transportation options and freedom for people who cannot drive due to factors such as age or lack of a car. Lire davantage

I do not support this proposed legislation as I believe that bike lanes should not require the approval of the interior government and instead should be decided by municipalities. Bike lanes are an efficient, safe, and cost effective form of transportation for my family.
