Bill 212 infringes on the rights of Ontarians. Giving the province the right to seize land and property from Ontarians, in order to build highways as they see fit should not be allowed. Lire davantage

As a citizen living in Brampton, Ontario, who frequently travels to Toronto, I am writing to express my strong opposition to Bill 212 and urge the Government of Ontario to reject it in its entirety. Lire davantage

Removing existing bike lanes would be foolish, inefficient, and a waste of taxpayer money. Bike lanes promote safety for both cyclists and drivers. As a lifelong resident of Ontario and a daily driver, I would be deeply upset to see these lanes removed.

The province's proposed legislation to remove bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge and University Avenue is short-sorted and smacks of political interference. Lire davantage

Please do not remove the bike lanes. Removing the listed bike lanes seems to be a short-sighted, backwards-looking fix to a problem. Similar to adding a lane to an expressway, these fixes are temporary and highly-damaging in the long term. Lire davantage

As a resident of Ontario and someone who exclusively commutes by car - I oppose this bill vehemently because it licenses the government to steal privately owned land. Lire davantage

Good afternoon, Traffic in Toronto, especially Downtown is so bad, additional permanent bike lanes would be so beneficial for the residents of Toronto. It would also be welcomed to put a toll on vehicles coming into the city… this may encourage more people to bike and take the TTC. Lire davantage

Time and time again, it has been proved that the removal of bike lanes DOES NOT equal the reduction of traffic congestion overall. Lire davantage

This is a gross overreach of provincial government power- the city of Toronto should be making these decisions for itself. What is the purpose of a municipal government, otherwise? Lire davantage

We don't need to remove bike lanes and force people out of their homes for more highways, we need more public transit!!!

If you actually cared about gridlock on these streets, you'd spend your time and money improving the transit system and subways right under these streets. They carry far more commuters/people/workers/etc. than your surface streets could ever carry in cars. Lire davantage

How telling that the Province is willing to bend over backwards, change all the rules, throw as much money wherever possible to get highways built faster - but none of this was available for major transit projects. Lire davantage

While throughput of traffic is necessary in some instances. We should be keeping these vital bike infrastructures. Removing these bike lanes will not help congestion as induced traffic demand will take effect upon the new lanes being opened. Lire davantage

Stop the bill. You are taking rights away. Let the people who live in Toronto decide what to do with its streets, not the people who do not live in the city, if that was not obvious.

This bill includes too many unchecked privileges for the government and aims to take rights away from citizens - whether they are cyclists, drivers, or home owners
