Removing bicycle lanes is one of the most ineffective things you could possibly do in an attempt to reduce gridlock. How many real bicycle lanes are there even for you to remove. Lire davantage

Removing the newly installed bike lanes on major routes like Bloor is the kind of short-term thinking that has caused this issue to begin with. Lire davantage

Seems like a horrible bill. Why are you forcing bicycles back onto the road to get in the way of cars? I hope you don't do it.

There is absolutely no reason to do this, there is no real data to support the idea of bike lanes adding to gridlock. Lire davantage

Hi there, I’m a resident of Toronto West - High Park/Parkdale Area. When I moved here 2.5 years ago, I was excited to live close to downtown. It would make it easier to commute and get downtown for events and work. Lire davantage

Let municipalities make decisions that work for their citizens and respect transportation choices for everyone, not just car owners. This proposed legislation is severe overreach. This legislation is divisive and an attack on local democracy.

Team, this decision is short sighted because you have completely disregarded people like me who cannot afford vehicles, who depend on a free mode of transport like a bike to get around. Lire davantage

The removal is existing bike lanes is possibly the most ridiculous and dumbest waste of money possible. This government should focus on fixing actual issues rather than meddling in municipal affairs to score political points. Lire davantage

This is a big backwards step and a huge waste of money. It shouldn’t even be a provincial government decision.

This will slow everything down. People will continue to cycle and instead of passing them in their lane, we will be stuck behind them. Duh.

This is an outrageous overreach for a provincial government. Let cities and municipalities manage their infrastructure. Doug Ford’s weird vendetta against bike lanes is inappropriate and petty.

The removal of bike lanes is going to either increase the number of cars on the road (driven by people who were formerly cycling) or it will put the cyclists that were formerly riding in the bike lanes in front of cars, thus increasing traffic in the road proper. Lire davantage

Bike lanes have made driving easier and safer in Kingston. The space would not decrease traffic. Let the municipalities decide locally, this is not within the provincial scope.

This is a silly law that wastes our money and puts lives at risk! This law should not go through because Doug Ford is trying to divide cyclists and drivers. Lire davantage

The background of the proposal states that the government of Ontario "recognizes the need to build priority highways faster as our province grows in order to get people and goods out of gridlock and save drivers and businesses time and money". Lire davantage

This is a waste of tax payer money. Bike lanes reduce traffic and encourage people to consider alternate methods of transportation. Toronto's traffic issue will be made worse by this.

This is stupid. Biking is one of the most efficient ways of travelling, and bike lanes make it safe.

Despicable that while I suffer through our health care system. The premiere is more concerned about 3 bike lanes in Toronto. Seems Ontario conservatives would rather play Mayor than represent me.

Aside from the wealth of research that indicates that car traffic is the least-efficient way to move people and that providing other effective transportation options (like bike lanes) generally reduces traffic congestion rather than increasing it, this interference of the provincial government in mu Lire davantage
