There is absolutely no reason to do this, there is no real data to support the idea of bike lanes adding to gridlock. Lire davantage

This proposal is not based on any evidence. Gridlock is caused by car parking lanes instead of bike lanes. There are more and more people living in Toronto that are biking every day. This proposal is foolish and short-sighted. Not to mention a waste of public money. Shut it down. Cancel it.

I am wholly against this act, and opposed to removing any bike lanes. As a life long conservative voter, I am disappointed to see the government removing the best way to cut down congestion. I rely on these bike lanes every day to get to work safely and quickly. Lire davantage

There is absolutely no reason to do this, there is no real data to support the idea that bike lanes contribute to gridlock. How is the province asking for municipalities to justify new cycling lanes without providing any data to make this decision? Lire davantage

The statistics show bike lanes reduce traffic and make drivers, cyclists and pedestrians safer. I will protest the removal of bike lines and the over reach of our premiers efforts to make us pay with our own tax money for the removal of an addition to our roads that helps everyone.

This bill is an absolute gross overreach and abuse of provincial power. It is unhelpful, wasteful, and will produce more traffic congestion and accidents when cyclists like myself are forced to enter dangerous traffic instead of protected bike lanes. It will slow down traffic, not help. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the recently proposed legislation regarding the removal of installed bike lanes and the additional bureaucracy for installing new bike lanes in Ontario. Lire davantage

The removal of bike lanes on Yonge, Bloor and University are all lanes that I use daily for my commute. Removing these will make my commute more dangerous. Also, apart from maybe killing me, an accident, which is more likely when I'm sharing the road with cars, will certainly cause more gridlock. Lire davantage

On the bike lanes thing: can we double down on Canadian e-bike manufacturing instead of removing bike lanes? I can get from Etobicoke to downtown Toronto in 30 mins on an ebike without even breaking the speed limit, it's easy even in cold weather, and it's practically free. Lire davantage

This is the dumbest thing this government has come up with so far. I hate how you are distracting us from real issues, like crumbling healthcare, education and housing systems. Can't wait to vote for anyone but you in the coming election.

The science and data proves that bike lanes save lives, reduce traffic congestion, reduce emissions, and make people healthier. Leave decisions about municipal roads to municipalities who have the expertise, demographic and traffic data for their communities. Lire davantage

This is an absolutely terrible idea. This is complete overreach by the Ontario Government. Bike lanes ensure that cyclists have a safe way to commute. I'd much prefer for a cyclist in a bike lane that be on the road in front of a car. Lire davantage

This is great way to make sure bike lanes are installed correctly on main surface roads. Bloor west is a disaster now in Etobicoke. Kuddos!

That will just make traffic worse. For safety cyclists will have to take the whole lane. Traffic will be far worse. People will die. People will be charged with vehicular homicide and/or road rage. Remind me what the upside is because by all metrics it will be worse for no reason.

Removing bike lanes in crowded areas such as this where they are used frequently is a horrible idea.

As a resident of the St. Lawrence neighbourhood these bike lanes are critical for me to get around the city. It takes 40 minutes of using public transportation and 30 minutes to drive and find parking anywhere west of spadina or north of College for me. Lire davantage

Creating additional barriers to implement bike lanes is counter productive in so many levels. Bill 212 is a waste of public money by creating more bureaucracy. Bill 212 is a waste of voter's money since bike lanes are much cheaper than roads to build and maintain. Lire davantage

If you want to save me time, stop making me comment on your ridiculous bills that waste taxpayer money. How about you put that money towards healthcare instead of your construction buddies.

We should be making it easier to add more bike lanes, not harder. It's not just about the biker. Even as a driver, keeping bikes separate means that drivers can continue at speed where they'd otherwise get caught behind the bike. Lire davantage
