I do not agree with these changes. As a registered landscape architect, I believe that liveable, complete communities need a balance of parks, open space and community infrastructure to support a healthy population. This makes for a desirable place to live and results in a strong economy. Read more

Please leave these decisions up to the community leaders in their respective municipalities. They are better equipped to make decisions that affect their constituents and understand the unique needs of the residents in their communities.

We are against increasing the authority of the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal to override the decisions re official plans and zoning made by the elected officials of the affected municipalities. Such decisions are based on local knowledge and the requirements of the local population. Read more

Bill 108 is a disaster. It will allow developers to pay less in development fees. Already development does not pay for development. In addition it changes the planning act to the benefit of developers. Read more

Intensification must fully cover both its costs and impacts to the existing community investors (the largest are the average citizen) that suffer the impacts. Intensification must tangibly make life for all people better in some way. Read more

Bill 108 is clearly suited for developers’ interests. I find it irresponsible to pass a bill that will let developers pay to break the law, while ignoring scientific evidence about the environment. Read more

These proposed changes are terrible. As a mother of three, I wonder how they will survive if we, as a society, keep making laws to allow the earth to be stripped and ruined further, all in the name of commerce. Read more
