The Greenbelt is a very important space for all Ontarians. If the Greenbelt is disrupted due to development, there will be irreparable harm to the ecosystems and the wildlife that live there. We will never be able to get those ecosystems in the habitat for sensitive organisms back. Read more

I am opposed to section 019-6172 of bill 23. It removes thousands of hectares of previously protected lands from Ontario’s Greenbelt and passes the costs of infrastructure from the already wealthy developers onto tax paying Ontarions. This bill must be recalled.

1. Most residents of the Kitchener-Waterloo region experience a dearth of parkland at present. We cannot tolerate a reduction in the parkland dedication rate. Read more

I am opposed to the changes in this act. Since the changes will remove development fees and download big dollars to municipalities allowing development companies to pocket more profits at the community members expense. Read more

I don’t agree that reducing development charges will enable houses to be built faster. I think that developers are only interested in building fewer high-priced homes. The only way around that is for the government to provide incentives for developers to build what we require at the moment i.e. Read more

Thank you for this opportunity to respond to Bill 23 implementation.  I will address several aspects of the bill.1.  By far the most far-reaching and dangerous aspect is the restriction of Conservation Authorities. Read more

Please do not proceed with this. It is reckless and not very well thought out. It seems to benefit mostly the developers and not the people who are in need. Not to mention the devastation to nature and biodiversity. Thank-you. Kathy

I would like to express my support of this proposal. We do not need to open new lands for development. there are large enough land areas to support required housing needs.

I object to this Bill. The Bill is very complicated and far to detailed to be rushed through in this manner. The public and experts need an opportunity to read through the Bill and understand it fully before it should be passed. Read more

The proposed changes to development charges shift the burden onto taxpayers – whereas the already-very-rich developers are the ones who are laughing all the way to the bank. Read more

This proposed action is unjust beyond measure. How are we citizens of Ontario to safeguard our clean drinking water, ensure access to green space for all, protect lands that have fed us for decades, and trust our interests are at heart in this greed based move by the Ford government. Read more

The research is there that as people we need green space for our mental and physical health. Do not be motivated solely by money and building corporations. Please think of the people, and of the planet. Read more

Please do not proceed with the absurd changes being proposed to the Planning Act and Development Charges. Please also repeal Bill 23 - it simply is not in the best public interest or to the benefit of our province - just selected developers. Read more

We all need urban parkland. I urge you to maintain the current rate of 1 hectare for 300 dwellling units. During the height of COVID, we saw how vital parkland was to people's mental health. Parkland use increased exponentially. People need a break from 'the urban jungle.' Read more
