This is so incredibly shortsighted as to be almost laughable. It does absolutely nothing to address the need for more housing, and more affordable housing at that, in existing urban centres; nor does it allow for the necessary density required to actually fight the housing crisis. Read more

I am strongly against opening the green belt for development. The land selected for this protection removal will only positively impact rich land owning developers. Replacing important environments and replacing them with detached single family mega mansions is not a good use of our land. Read more

To whom it may concern, I am writing to you regarding the changes to the greenbelt plan. I am a 20 year resident of Toronto ON and even though the changes are not to land within the Toronto boundaries, I am very concerned about removing land from the greenbelt for development. Read more

The Duffins Rouge Agricultural Preserve (DRAP). part of the Greenbelt (established in 2005) is protected under the Central Pickering Development Plan (CDPD) "in perpetuity" for agricultural and preservation uses. This protection was reaffirmed by The Superior Court in 2007. Read more

Please do not follow through with this proposal. The only thing that should be changed about the greenbelt is adding more areas to it, we should not be removing such large swaths especially considering how much underdeveloped land we have outside of those areas that we can use. Read more

I am totally against this proposal it is going in the wrong direction for the environment and the city in general. The greenbelt is the city green lung it is also used by many citizen to do outdoor activities and be in nature it needs to be protected.
