This is not good for environment, not good for the people of Ontario, and is not effective policy to improve and solve housing issue carrently impacting renters.
It’s unfortunate that I’m just finding out that there is a public consultation period still open for this proposal. I would like to have the opportunity to give a more fulsome response.

This proposal is abhorrent. The GTA is covered in uninhabited condos (built and in construction). The real housing issue at hand is a lack of rent control and a lack of policies to support residents.

Ontario resident here who opposes developing on or near the greenbelt due to ecologically sensitive areas, farmland, woodlots and wetlands that form a vital part of Ontario’s regional agricultural land and watershed system that should be saved, not turned into another subdivision.

The province has failed to demonstrate need based on any transparent criteria or evaluation. The only criteria appears to be that the landowner asked and had influence upon politicians. Were removals the province’s idea or the landowner?

“30 days to consult” on these “proposed changes” is laughable. I have to give my landlord more notice if I’m moving out of my residence. 30 days is an insult to our protected lands and the legislation that enabled them.
