This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. In what world does the provincial government know more about the local traffic patterns, needs and designs that the city government.

This is the biggest waste of time imaginable for the current provincial government to contemplate right now. Not only is this a gross overreach of provincial authority into municipal matters, it's politically and substantively useless because it will do nothing to reduce traffic.

As someone who travels by both car and bicycle, I have only seen positive impacts from implementation of bike lanes in my community-- areas where slower-moving bicycles are separated from car traffic, in my experience, face less interruptions to the flow of traffic than ones where drivers need to sl

This is absolutely abysmal! Hands off local, municipal matters! This is a severe overreach and abuse of power for an issue that should rest in the hands of the City of Toronto, not the Province of Ontario.

This policy is a terrible move by the province that stems from a single fallacy: that more traffic lanes will improve traffic flow, while fewer lanes will impede it. Cars are, by design, extremely inefficient for moving people compared to every other urban transportation mode.

Bike lanes save lives! Use facts and not what some rich guy with 2 SUVs says when determining the best course of action for an ever growing city. Also, FUND TRANSIT and you'll see gridlock disappear. Right now walking or biking is the fastest way to get around my neighborhood in Riverside.

I don't want bike lanes replaced by another traffic lane, the bikes are just going to get in the way of cars even more. This is a waste of my tax dollars and should not be implemented.
There simply is not enough space in our cities to allow for everyone to drive and use cars without traffic. This is proven in every medium to large city on earth. Alternate modes of transportation are therefore necessary to increase the flow of people through our cities.

As a resident living in South Etobicoke on Royal York and Bloor, it has been extremely frustrating that city council has not listened to feedback from the community regarding the implementation of bike lanes that take away from car lanes.

This bill includes items related to avoiding environmental assessments for future construction projects. Those assessments exist for a reason.

This is a poorly planned act and does not take into account the numerous studies that prove how beneficial alternative transit routes, including bike lanes, are at improving safety and reducing congestion on our roads.

The provincial government should be focusing on provincial matters like fixing our healthcare system.
Let municipalities decide for themselves how we want our roads and bike lanes to be laid out. It’s ridiculous to waste our tax dollars to rebuild roads that eliminate bike lanes.

The Provincial government should not have jurisdiction over what Cities can do with their own municipally owned roads. Installing or removing bike lanes should be solely the decision of a city council who are elected by the residents of the city.

It's absurd that the provincial government is interfering with municipal affairs and requiring cities to jump through more hoops to install bike lanes. The best way to reduce congestion in cities is to get people out of cars entirely.

I do not support the province placing restrictions on new bike lanes or attempts to get rid of existing bike lanes in the city of Toronto. We are a household where both adults in the home commute from the East End to downtown Toronto, including child pick up and drop off via bicycle.

Increasing the amount of traffic lanes for motor vehicles in major cities such as Toronto should not be considered at a provincial level. Pedestrians in a city should be considered a commodity and locals of the city of Toronto do not want more motor vehicles driving in the downtown core.
