Removing already built bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge, and University is moronic. Not only will this be a colossal waste of tax payer money that no one asked for but this will put many lives in danger from collisions.

I live in the Bloor West area and strongly support the removal of the bike lanes along Bloor. The traffic often backs up for blocks, making it near impossible to turn left on to street where I live. This alone adds 5-10 minutes to my commute in the evening.

This proposal represents a massive overreach that would effectively limit the toolkit my municipal government has to address issues that are important to me like cleaner air, eliminating serious injuries and fatalities from traffic collisions, and even tackling gridlock and congestion woes.

It is seriously disappointing that the Ford Conservatives have proposed such an ill conceived plan. I DO NOT SUPPORT BILL 212 in any way. Bike lanes promote health, prosperity, culture and add to the communities they are in.

This is nonsense. The government doesn't seem to understand what "evidence informed" means. The best data we have points to bike lanes as improving local economies, safety, and enjoyment of travelling through cities. As for congestion, removing them will not benefit anyone.

This Bill will make Toronto an outlier in regressive, car-dependent planning. From London and Paris overseas to Montreal and Calgary at home, world class cities everywhere are expanding and upgrading active transportation infrastructure. Toronto is not leading the way on this.

Bike lanes are great but more thought needs to be put into where they go. Streets like Bloor and Yonge can’t feasibly support bike lanes. It creates gridlock and hurts productivity. Additional streets with bike lanes should be re-examined.

Leave bike lanes on Yonge, Bloor and all other major city streets. The city of Toronto should decide where bike lanes go, not Doug Ford.
I will not vote Conservative in federal or provincial elections. This is too much. Stay in your lanes, no pun intended
I lived in Vancouver in the 90s and I just went to visit again recently. The bike lanes there make the city so easy to get around. Mobi bikes and many many bike lanes... fantastic for getting cars off the road. Which is what we want, right?

Pulling out bike lanes is the wrong decision, that will have real consequences for cyclists. There's no evidence to support this decision, in fact quite the opposite. Reducing gridlock means getting more CARS off the road, encouraging active transportation, public transportation is the way to go.

Stop wasting time and money overriding municipal democracy. If Doug Ford wants to be mayor of Toronto he should run for mayor. Until then, leave Toronto bike lanes alone.
I am a Toronto resident and never bike as I find that way too dangerous in this city. Even though I have a car that I drive everyday, I find that bill absolutely stupid and counter productive.

I absolutely support this bill. The bike lanes on Bloor West have had a massive negative effect on both traffic movement and the retail environment. Move the bikes off of Bloor.
I have grave concerns that the removal of bike lanes on these key roads will endanger cyclists and reduce people’s willingness to ride in the city. The result? More people in cars. More cyclist injuries and death. Please reconsider this bill.
I cannot comprehend why we are removing brand new bike lanes on Bloor and University. They were considered valuable enough to be funded when they were installed: what changed? Now, the plan is to remove them for an even higher price tag than they cost to put in, all funded by taxes?

Do not remove Toronto bike lanes. Bike lanes increase personal safety and save bicyclist lives. There is abundant existing evidence to support the concept that bike lanes significantly reduce traffic congestion.
The province should not be interfering in municipal planning at this micro level.

As a driver and an avid cyclist, it is evident that this government does not care about its citizens, choosing instead to push vanity projects that reduces the standard of living for its citizens.
