I strongly oppose this new legislation, which not only dismantles essential protections for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also disregards the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. This bill represents a profound failure of responsible governance. Read more

I don’t think this is good for our effort to protect endangered species. There should be better approaches to building the highway while also being conscious of the animal (endangered or not) that will be affected by it. Read more

The proposed repeal of the Endangered Species Act, 2007, and its replacement with the Species Conservation Act, 2025, is deeply concerning as it prioritizes economic development over ecological responsibility. Read more

This is not the way forward. The government should be looking at increasing the protections to our species at risk not removing them so that the permitting process is easier. I want my grand children to know what a polar bear is. Removing protections is not the answer. Read more

If you want to make a valuable change give the species at risk at back to Natural Resources instead of Environment, Conservation and Parks. Don’t exploit our species at risk in the name of “faster permitting process” the process is there for a reason.

We must protect the environment and endangered species. Nothing is more important than the survival of our planet. We need clean air, fresh water, and the environmental ecosystem. Without that, we have nothing. We must not roll back protections. In fact, we should be expanding protections.

Hello. I am extremely against these new changes to the ESA. At a time of climate change crisis, it is crucial that we protect our environment. These new changes aim to reduce red tape but is essentially creating a loop hole to destroy conservation efforts. Read more

Stop eroding the protection of our wildlife and natural habitats in order to extract and exploit our natural resources for profit. They are not the property of the government to sell, but rather should be decided by the indigenous people who have protected this land for generations. Read more

It’s incredibly problematic to have “register-first, ask-questions-later” model for species-at-risk permits, allowing developers to proceed before environmental implications are fully known. What is the point of the policy if damage is already done? Read more
