Human infrastructure is temporary but a lose of a species is permanent. I would like my kids to be able to see as many species and creatures I saw growing up. Please think of the small things. Thank you.

I strongly oppose the rollback of protections under the Endangered Species Act to facilitate housing development. While I understand the need for more affordable housing, dismantling critical environmental safeguards is not the solution. Read more

Hello/bonjour, I am a resident of Northern Ontario and do not approve of these changes to the Endangered Species Act in favour of the economy. The impact that the ESA has on housing and infrastructure is not proportionate to the changes being proposed. Read more

I am writing to express my strong opposition to Bill 23. While I understand the urgency of addressing Ontario's housing crisis, this legislation poses significant threats to our environment, democratic processes, and municipal autonomy. Read more

These changes to the endangered species act and creation of the Species conservation act are dangerous and do not reflect the best interest of our province. He puts many animals at risk of being killed for the purpose of profit. I am strongly opposed to these changes. Read more

Not in support of this proposal. Having been involved with various private conservation efforts, the importance of ecosystem interactions cannot be overstated -- so limiting the definition of habitat as the SCA proposal suggests will undoubtedly come at the detriment of vulnerable species. I strongly oppose this new legislation, which not only dismantles essential protections for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also disregards the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. This bill represents a profound failure of responsible governance. Read more

Changes to the ESA (including its repeal and replacement with the SCA) will serve only to support economic development at the expense of species at risk and their habitats in Ontario. Read more

Please do not alter the endangered species act! Of the animals, birds, trees, water, soil is damaged, it could be irreversible. We need to stop acting like humans are the only beings that matter. It’s short term gain (for some) and long term will lead to our demise.

This would be a terrible setback for environmental regulation in Ontario. Housing infrastructure should not conflict with basic environmental services and protections, especially given that density and sustainability should be the prime targets for housing policy. Read more

This is an absolutely backwards approach to species conservation. While the government claims to be committed to conservation, the proposed Act demonstrates the complete opposite. I fully oppose this proposal.
