We need to think of future generations and we really don't own any of this.(the environment). We are just borrowing it for a short time while we live in it.
As a biology major, I understand how important and delicate ecosystems are. The green belt has some of Canada's most biodiverse ecosystems, and making even minor changes can have detrimental and long-lasting impacts on many of our most important keystone species.

Advancing the economy "faster" by cutting corners on protecting endangered species is a no-go from me. This seems like needless legislation to make developers rich.
Please do not take away our wildlife protections. Our wildlife is already been so infringed upon and endangered due to humans exploiting and encroaching upon the land.

Please do not take away our wildlife protections as they are important and necessary to ensuring our wildlife has rights to this land too. They are already so infringed upon and endangered. Please protect them

I am deeply opposed to the elimination of the Species at Risk Act. There are suffient vacant building spaces that could be used for development. There is a plethora of research indicating for the need for species diversity to maintain healthy ecosystems for which we are a part.

This should not be okay! The Ontario government should not be able to make loopholes just to develop! we need to protect our species at risk. the lack of science present in this new proposed bill is appalling.
This is a really worrying move. While I understand the need for additional housing - and I’m skeptical at how affordable it will be if it’s the usual developers selling to the usual clients - it matters that Ontario is a place with good access to nature.
